ABOUT HOPI
The Hopi Tribe is one of the 562 federally recognized tribes.
The Dawa (Sun) Clan reputation was as warriors/protectors of the tribe.
The Hopi are considered by many other tribes to have a wisdom and spiritual knowledge. They are intensely spiritual and fiercely independent. The Hopi have never been relocated by the U.S. government. The Hopi Reservation occupies more than 1,500,000 acres in Northeastern Arizona. There are only 15,000 registered Hopi in the entire world – approximately 10,000 live on the reservation. Hopi artisans are known worldwide for pottery, carvings, weaving and paintings.
